Kinderhook’s Fifth Annual Pride Parade

June 26, 2026 - 3 to 5 PM in the Kinderhook Village Green

Our march will begin in front of the Kinderhook Memorial Library following their Drag Queen Story Hour, which has always historically kicked off our event. Drag Queen Story Hour is all ages, free event for families of children.

We will march along Hudson Street to the Village Green, where the main event will commence. Addressing the crowd will be Grand Marshall Camille Massey, Mayor of the Village of Kinderhook Dorene Weir, the Junior Grand Marshall, and more. The event will also feature drag performances by Heath Bar and Noelle Diamond.

Before and after the formalities, a DJ will be in the bandstand spinning all your favorite pride party anthems! Local businesses have in past years offered themed drinks and snacks for purchase, and OK Pride will be selling commemorative shirts.

The Aviary will be hosting its second annual pride party fundraiser, which this year will feature a free photobooth and drag performances by local queens Arya Dun and Queenie Royale. This is a ticketed 21+ event. Tickets are available for purchase now!

This Year’s Grand Marshall

Camille Massey

Camille Massey is a human rights lawyer who serves as President and CEO of Synergos, a global organization focused on bridging divides and building trust to tackle some of the world’s toughest challenges. She stepped into the role in November 2023, bringing decades of experience working across development, human rights, and global strategy.

Her career has taken her around the world, with a strong focus on Africa and Asia, in roles spanning the Council on Foreign Relations, Human Rights First, the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, and the Sorensen Center for International Peace and Justice, where she was Founding Executive Director. She also founded Cue Global, a consulting firm supporting organizations on strategy, policy, advocacy, and communications. She’s had some memorable collaborations along the way—including working with Jimmy Carter on human rights issues as the Carter Center’s first graduate fellow and with Peter Gabriel to help launch WITNESS, a pioneering human rights organization using video to drive change.

On June 1, Camille is stepping into a new leadership role as Board Co-Chair of Outright International. She also holds advisory roles with Global Witness and NYU’s Center for Business and Human Rights. For ten years, she served as the Board Chair of Breakthrough, a global organization founded in India that works to end violence against women and girls, and as a Founding Board Member of the literary organization House of SpeakEasy.

Camille earned her law degree from CUNY School of Law, ranked the number one Public Interest Law School, and her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School, where she now sits on the advisory board. She’s also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and both the American and New York City Bar Associations.

Originally from Gainesville, Georgia, Camille has a bit of a trailblazing streak—she was the first female student government president in her town and the first girl to play Little League baseball in the state.

These days, she and her family - partner Gillie and daughter Lucia - enjoy spending their time in Kinderhook and New York City. They purchased their Kinderhook cottage over twenty years ago. When Camille is not working, you’ll likely find her enjoying the simple pleasures of books, art, tennis, biking, and good food with family and friends in the village
